At Brain Care Health we believe knowledge is power. The more you know about something and understand it, the better you are equipped to deal with it to make a change.
Brain Care health regularly holds workshops available for anyone to attend.
Workshops
We offer workshops led by Clinical Neuropsychologists on a range of topics that include:
Caring for an Ageing Brain
Memory Matters
Wellbeing and Mindfulness
Our workshops will run in small groups and frequency is based on level of interest. Fees for attending a workshop will vary. If there is a topic that is of interest to you that you want to learn more about, we would love to hear from you!
To register your interest for a workshop, please contact us or sign up to our newsletter to be informed of any upcoming events.
ABI Groups
Brain Care Health understands the importance of social interaction, connection with others and friendships. Groups can often help people feel less isolated and can provide valuable real world feedback and support for each other.
Groups at Brain Care Health offer a powerful way of developing social and communication skills, self confidence, emotional and self-regulation abilities, all in a safe and encouraging environment.
i.Connect - Social Group
At Brain Care Health we are excited to offer a social community group in Thornbury for people who have been impacted by an acquired brain injury. Ideally, this will include a minimum of 4 participants attending on a monthly basis.
The group will provide an opportunity for those living with a brain injury to connect with others with similar experiences in a relaxed and fun environment, engaging in a social activity as decided by the group. Gatherings outside of the i.Connect group will be encouraged to further develop connectedness in the community.
Participation in the group will incur a minimal fee and the total cost to the individual may vary each month, depending on the activity chosen by the group. For individuals who have TAC or Workcover funding, there may be no other fees incurred if written approval is provided by the care co-ordinator or case manager.
Memory Group
At Brain Care Health we offer a memory group for clients who have sustained an acquired brain injury. Groups of up to 4-6 individuals will run for 45 minutes over 4 weeks exploring different aspects of memory following a brain injury. Participation in the group will incur a minimal fee.
For individuals who have TAC or Workcover funding, there may be no fees incurred if written approval is provided by the care co-ordinator or case manager.
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the the traditional custodians of this land on which we live, work and play. We recognise their connection to land, water and community and we pay respect to their Elders - past, present and emerging.
