A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury that affects brain function. Falls and contact sports are the most common causes of concussion.
The signs and symptoms of a concussion can be subtle and may not show up immediately. Some symptoms of concussion include:
Symptoms can last for days, weeks or even longer. However, most people recover fully after a concussion. If symptoms continue for more than 2 weeks, an assessment and support may be of benefit.
At Brain Care Health we work together with our clients supporting them in navigating changes, understanding their injury, and applying meaningful and real-life practical strategies to successfully get them back to study, work and recreational activities.
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the the traditional custodians of this land on which we live, work and play. We recognise their connection to land, water and community and we pay respect to their Elders - past, present and emerging.
