Fees are dependent on the type of service required, the length of the session, and your referral pathway. Please read more about our psychology and neuropsychology fees below.
Our fees are set with consideration to the recommended consultation rate set by the Australian Psychological Society (APS), which is currently $300.
Psychology consultations are $210 per session for all clients.
The rebate provided varies depending on the referral pathway and their rates for services. Please check with your funding provider for the rebate amount so you are aware of the gap payable on the day of your appointment.
Medicare Rebate
If referred by your GP along with a Mental Health Care Plan you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $92.90 for each 50 minute consultation.
Psychology consultations are $210 per session. So, the total of $117.10 is the out-of-pocket expense with a Medicare rebate payable on the day.
Your medicare rebate can be claimed on the spot at the end of your session. You can pay the difference or gap fee by EFTPOS or Credit Card.
Private Health Insurance
Psychology consultations are $210 per session.
Psychology services may be subsidised by your private health insurer if you have a policy with extras cover. Please check with your insurance provider the rebate available prior to making an appointment, so there are no surprises.
You will need to decide if you will use Medicare or their private health insurance ancillary cover to pay for psychology services. You cannot use private health insurance ancillary cover to ‘top up’ the Medicare rebate for services. You can use your private insurance cover as well as your Medicare rebates in the same year, but you cannot claim for both on the same day of your appointment.
You do not need a referral from a medical practitioner to qualify for private health insurance rebates.
At Brain Care Health we highly value a team approach to health care. Therefore, we recommend you notify your General Practitioner (GP) that you are accessing psychological services, to provide you with continuity of care between sessions and or treatment plans.
The fees for a neuropsychological assessment will vary depending on the complexity and the time involved and will be confirmed on an individual basis. Please get in touch to discuss your individual needs.
At this stage, neuropsychological assessments are not eligible for funding through Medicare. However, you may be able to claim against your private health insurance. Please check with your insurance provider if this is possible prior to making an appointment.
Neuropsychology services are compensable under TAC, Workcover, and many services are also eligible for NDIS funding.
Brain Care Health is a registered provider through TAC and Worksafe.
The cost of neuropsychological assessments, neuro-behavioural evaluations and therapeutic intervention will be funded by the TAC or Worksafe for approved clients.
Written approval for the cost of the services requested is required prior to your first appointment.
If you are privately funded or self-funding your neuropsychological assessment, an upfront 50% of the fee is payable prior to the assessment being commenced.
